A Movement of Faithful Resistance to Immorality and Injustice
We are followers of Christ. And we are standing together to say:
This is morally repugnant. Spiritually offensive. Constitutionally indefensible.
We are Christians Against Concentration Camps.
❗ What’s Happening Right Now
According to the Merriam-Webster definition, a concentration camp is "a place where large numbers of people (such as prisoners of war, political prisoners, refugees, or members of minority groups) are detained or confined under armed guard — often in relatively small areas and without due process." By this definition, the U.S. government is now holding thousands in facilities that qualify as concentration camps, both on U.S. soil and abroad.
These camps include immigrant detention centers, offshored prisons, and foreign holding facilities we fund and support. At these sites:
People are held without trial or due process, often for indefinite periods. This is a clear violation of Constitutional rights for anyone residing in the United States, whether citizen, non-citizen, documented or undocumented. There are certain human rights that are afforded all, regardless of status.
Children have been separated from families and are even being considered for relocation to harsh outdoor environments where there is risk of dehydration, disease, and even death by wild animals. These children are traumatized and subjected to fear, separation, neglect, and dangerous detention environments that carry psychological scars that can last a lifetime. This is a moral abomination.
Abroad, we have sent individuals to regimes known for torture, extrajudicial killings, and cruel, inhumane treatment.
At many facilities, people are subjected to inhumane conditions: lack of medical care, clean water, sanitation, and mental and physical abuse. There are already multiple documented deaths under U.S. custody.
This administration is celebrating these atrocities and injustices with merchandise and promises to expand these unlawful practices of human trafficking of people residing in the United States, both citizens and non-citizens alike, to concentration camps abroad, and to build more camps here on U.S. soil.
This is not just policy failure. This is a spiritual crisis.
📖 What Our Faith Demands of Us
There are literally thousands of scriptures that support values of justice, treating the immigrant with empathy and humanity, not harming children, not treating prisoners with cruelty and upholding just laws, but a few that are undeniable include...
“Do not mistreat or oppress a foreigner, for you were foreigners in Egypt.”— Exodus 22:21
“Remember those in prison as if you were their fellow prisoners.”— Hebrews 13:3
“I was a stranger and you welcomed me.”— Matthew 25:35
“Woe to those who make unjust laws… to deprive the poor of their rights.”— Isaiah 10:1-2
“There are those who hate the one who upholds justice in court and detest the one who tells the truth.”— Amos 5:10
We follow the Gospel of love, mercy, and justice — not of cages, cruelty, and control.
